چکیده
In this paper, the aperture synthesis processing techniques for distributed shipborne high frequency hybrid sky-surface wave radar (HFHSSWR) are proposed to improve azimuth resolution and obtain velocity vector estimation of moving target. First, system geometry signal model target HFHSSWR formulated, then improvement principle is derived. Second, based on developed model, we propose an algorithm, which can synthetic bandwidth improved using sub-band combination. Finally, a parameters inversion method introduced estimate azimuth, by solving equations regarding echo numerically. The simulations performed verify algorithms. results indicate that effectively radar, high-precision azimuth.

متن کاملIonosphere Probing with a High Frequency Surface Wave Radar
This paper describes how the ionosphere reflected echoes observed by a high frequency surface wave radar (HFSWR) can be processed to extract information regarding the ionosphere sporadic E (Es) and F2 layers. It is shown that the range/time spectrum contains the data to estimate the occurring time and virtual heights of both the still and drifting Es layer clouds. In addition, for the drifting ...
متن کاملWave Height Estimation from Shipborne X-Band Nautical Radar Images
A shadowing-analysis-based algorithm is modified to estimate significant wave height from shipborne X-band nautical radar images. Shadowed areas are first extracted from the image through edge detection. Smith’s function fit is then applied to illumination ratios to derive the root mean square (RMS) surface slope. From the RMS surface slope and the mean wave period, the significant wave height ...
متن کاملRadar cross-section (RCS) analysis of high frequency surface wave radar targets
Realistic high frequency surface wave radar (HFSWR) targets are investigated numerically in terms of electromagnetic wave – target interactions. Radar cross sections (RCS) of these targets are simulated via both the finite-difference time-domain (FDTD) method and the Method of Moments (MoM). The virtual RCS prediction tool that was introduced in previous work is used for these investigations. T...
متن کاملA review of high frequency surface wave radar for detection and tracking of ships
In today’s resource-driven economy, maritime nations are claiming economic borders that extend beyond the continental shelf or the 200 nautical mile (nm) Exclusive Economic Zone (EEZ). However, claiming such large economic area places responsibilities on the parent nation to exercise jurisdiction through surveillance and enforcement. The requirement to see beyond the horizon has long been a goa...
